The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, High Chief (Hon). Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode JP FCIA, has ordered the immediate return of stolen properties belonging to Ugbisi Community or face prosecution.

The stolen items, which include a Lister plant (gasoline engine), a pumping machine, a steel tower tank stand, a water tank, and other related accessories, were reportedly taken and sold by Josiah Ekuahovwe (also known as Oshe), Vice President of the Ugbisi Community, and his accomplice, Vincent Apiah Otota.

In a firm directive, the Executive Chairman made it clear that the culprits must return the stolen items within 48 hours or be handed over to security agents for legal action. The warning was issued today Monday 07/04/25 at an emergency meeting held at the Udu Council Secretariat, where the President of Ugbisi Community, Comr. Shadrach Opuba, and his executive committee were in attendance.

Furthermore, the Udu Council Chairman addressed claims of the overthrown of the Ugbisi Community leadership, stating that the decision was “null and void” as the Ugbisi Community had not officially informed the Udu Local Government Council about the matter.

High Chief Oyibode also took the opportunity to warn potential buyers who may be involved in the theft, urging them to be cautious as there would be no buyers without sellers. He emphasized that anyone found aiding and abetting the crime would be held accountable.
