SENATOR Ede Dafinone, member representing Delta Central Senatorial District at the red chamber of the national assembly, weekend, said the Harsh decision of President Ahmed Bola was for the Betterment of all Nigerians. Appealing to all Deltans and Nigerians to continue to support his administration, stating that the country will soon benefits his economic policies before the end of this year.
Dafinone who made this statement at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ethiope Federal Constituency Unity Meeting held at the ICE Study Centre, Jesse, Delta State, said the importance of Tinubu’s decisive policies when he assumed office by removing petrol subsidy and unifying exchange rates caused by hardship is temporary.and that the reward would come this year.
Addressing party stakeholders, Sen Dafinone lauded Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori’s recent defection to the APC, describing it as a unifying moment for the state. “That single move unified Delta. Under his leadership, all political structures are aligning. This is the new APC. In this party, there are no joiners or starters—we are all equal,” he declared.
Dafinone condemned divisive narratives being spread at the grassroots, saying they are rooted in lies. “They say new people want to take over the party—lie! They say the APC registration is to separate old and new—another lie! Registration is open to all, whether you’re from PDP or a fresh face. The goal is development, and alignment with the federal government brings that development,” he said passionately.
He urged long-time opposition members to seize the opportunity and remain within the APC. “They’ve been in opposition for over 20 years. Now that power is in their hands, they want to walk away? Stay, and develop your communities under His Excellency’s leadership,” he advised.
Earlier, Chief Anthony Akpomiemie, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, welcomed guests with a rallying message of unity and responsibility. “This gathering is a reaffirmation of our commitment to the ideals of APC. It’s a strategic step to strengthen our bonds across Ethiope East and West, and position our federal constituency for a prosperous future,” he stated.
The event was graced by key figures including Chief Senator Ighoyota Amori, Chief Ighomena Emmanuel, Chief Sunny Onoriode, Hon. Arthur Akpowhowo, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, and Rt. Hon. Halims Agoda—all of whom echoed the call for unity within the party. “The time for division is over. We must come together and build a cohesive APC that reflects our shared aspirations,” Chief Amori stressed.
Hon. Halims Agoda, a former House of Representatives member, moved a motion for a vote of confidence on President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori. “They have shown exemplary leadership. Our confidence in them is not just emotional—it’s based on tangible governance,” he stated. The motion was seconded by Hon. Barr. Akpodiogaga Sunny Emeyese, receiving unanimous approval.
The unity meeting also served as a platform to dispel misconceptions and reassure grassroots supporters of the party’s inclusiveness. “There are no winners and losers in the new APC,” Dafinone concluded. “We are all in this together—for the prosperity of Delta, Ethiope Federal Constituency, and Nigeria as a whole.”
The meeting ended with renewed optimism, strategic resolutions, and a collective vow to move forward under a united APC, firmly anchored by the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
