An expanded meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ethiope West chapter was convened on Sunday 18th, May, 2025, at the country home of former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori.
The meeting was called by Honourable Member Rt Hon Mrs Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, who represents the Ethiope Federal Constituency.
The meeting saw the presence of key party leaders from within the local government area and was presided over by Ibori-Suenu herself.
The gathering was particularly significant in the wake of the recent merger of the state PDP structure into the APC, led by the state Governor Rt Hon Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, which occurred last month.
In her address, Rt Hon Mrs Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu emphasized the importance of steadfastness among party leaders and members, urging unity and commitment to the APC’s growth and success in Ethiope West. She extended an early welcome to potential defectors from the PDP, encouraging them to approach this transition with an open mind and a willingness to collaborate with the existing party structure for the collective benefit of all.
Ibori-Suenu stressed the necessity of adhering to established procedures for party registration, underscoring the goal of working together to advance the party’s agenda, win elections, and further align with the renewed hope initiative of the current administration.
Chief Hope Abijor, a pioneering leader in the region, congratulated members for their resilience and dedication, asserting that the party’s current standing is a direct result of their commitment.
Additionally, Chief Champion Kpateghe, a prominent figure in local politics, praised Ibori-Suenu for her effective representation thus far and encouraged all party leaders and members to support her leadership for the betterment of the APC in Ethiope West and the broader Ethiope Federal Constituency.
Chief Dr Jerry Wilson Omene also highlighted the need for cooperation and unity within the party, reinforcing the significance of the recent developments.
