Pandemonium in Delta Community as Angry Youths burnt Man Alive

Pandemonium and fear gripped residents of Otor-Owhe community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State as a young man was aset ablaze for allegedly beheading a woman in the community on Tuesday 28th January, 2025. 

The young man identified as Oghenero from Otor-Owhe community was set ablaze and burnt to death for allegedly beheading the woman popularly known as Oshomirara in an undisclosed bush within the community.

According to source from the community who spoke on condition of anonymity said Oghenero beheaded the woman (Oshomirara) in retaliation over the slapped that the beheaded woman slapped her mother (Oghenero’s mother).

The source said, “the beheaded woman (Oshomirara) who is from Emevor and Orogun slapped Oghenero’s mother over an argument.

“Getting home, Oghenero’s mother informed Oghenero, her son who in turn took to the farm in which the beheaded woman was farming, beheaded the woman and brought the her head home.

“Reaching home with the head of the woman (Oshomirara) in a poly bag, he (Oghenero) was arrested by the local vigilante within the community and was shot in his two legs while trying to escape before he was set ablaze by irate youths of the community. “

As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Bright Edafe proved abortive as he had not responded to calls and text messages sent to his phone number.
