Ovwian Ward 07 PDP Leaders, Members Reaffirm Allegiance to PDP 

 

*to work against Oborevwori’s reelection.

Leaders and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ovwian Ward 7 in Udu LGA of Delta State has unanimously reaffirmed their full allegiance to the PDP at all levels. This was done during their general meeting held today Friday 30th of May 2025 at Ovwian Community Town Hall.

This meeting happens to be the first held by leaders and members of the PDP from the Ward since the infamous defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in April 2025. This meeting is to serve as a testament to the fact that PDP is still very much alive in Udu and in Delta State contrary to the perception in some quarters.

The occasion witnessed the presence of notable PDP leaders from the Ward, amongst whom were: High Comrade William Saiki – PDP Ward 7 Chairman; Comrade Lucky Gegede – Vice Chairman; Chief Frank Magamu Muwhen – Immediate past President General of Ovwian Community and also a former PDP aspirant for Udu Council Chairmanship; Chief Oghenero Akpovwa; Chief Lawson Agberia Oghoifo; Chief Hon. Matthew Odjeku Uparan; Madam Yetunde Brown; Chief Felix Sikprako; Chief Michael Edema – Ovwian Vice President General; Comrade Sylvester Ovedje – Ovwian PRO; Comrade Isaiah Okubio – Ovwian Financial Secretary; Sir Eyesan Michael – Rep Itsekiri Residents; Comrade Joseph Oro – Ovwian Traditional Prime Minister; Mr. Clement Akaba; Mr. Michael Ajimoko; Mr. Mustapha Suleiman – President of Arewa People in Udu; Engineer Christopher Kevu; Mr. Ernest Kiapele – Ovwian Community Treasurer; Mr. Michael George and many others too numerous to mention.

The meeting which was also attended by Udu PDP Executives from the LGA led by their Coordinator Hon. Johnbull Kenairu. The meeting had 396 persons in attendance.

During the meeting, Members unanimously described the defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to the APC as a betrayal of trust and thereby vowed to work against his reelection in 2027. They described those who defected as agents of retrogression and that their exit is good riddance to bad rubbish.

Highpoints of the occasion saw to an address by the Coordinator of PDP in Udu LGA, Hon. Johnbull Kenairu, who admonished all to be steadfast and ready for the task ahead in the furtherance of the growth and interest of the PDP.
