Koko Community Celebrates Dr. Ojoede’s Appointment and Philanthropic Efforts

In a joyous celebration at the weekend, the people of Koko Community in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, came together to honour their distinguished son, Dr. Oritsegbegbemi Maurice Ojoede, following his recent appointment as Executive Assistant on Political to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

The event not only recognized his new role but also celebrated his extensive philanthropic contributions to the community and beyond.

Dr. Ojoede was warmly received at the Koko Community Management Hall by Community leaders and executives at the KCM hall, before being celebrated by a large crowd at Koko Community School, where traditional dance troops performed in his honour.

In his welcoming address, Dr. Cris Ogajomor, Chairman of the Koko Community Management (KCM), commended Dr. Ojoede for his commitment to uplifting the less privileged through various skill acquisition programmes and support initiatives.

He remarked, “You have done well; If all Itsekiri men followed your example, our community would flourish. This is your home, and we pray for your elevation beyond this position. Your contributions are a testament to your dedication.”

Olorogun Voke Oshasha, Special Adviser to the Minister for Aviation and Aerospace, echoed Dr. Ogajomor’s sentiments, thanking the community for honoring Dr. Ojoede and encouraging continued support for both the governor and the president. “Your contributions to the community are vital for the continued growth of our state and country, and I urge you all to ensure that your voices are heard come next general elections with our governor and Mr President been reelected”.

 

 

Addressing the crowd, Dr. Oritsegbegbemi Maurice Ojoede, expressed profound gratitude for the warm reception and reiterated his commitment to serving his community.

He stated, “This appointment is not just for me; it’s for all of us. I am dedicated to enhancing our community with projects like skill acquisition programs and the provision of clean water. Today, I will also be presenting various working tools to our local vigilante groups, fishermen, and okada riders to support their jobs.”

Dr. Ojoede however, emphasized the importance of voter registration and encouraged everyone in the community to participate actively in the ongoing voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). “Your participation is crucial for the upcoming 2027 general elections,” he urged.

Earlier in the event, Hon. Hope George and Comr. Uzuazomaro Mukoro, Senior Special Assistant on Political and Special Assistant on Student Affairs, respectively, expressed their confidence in Dr. Ojoede’s potential to make a significant impact in his new role.

The event featured distributions of essential items, including two-way radios, fishing nets, okada helmets, and forms for skill acquisition training for community members.

Highlighting the day’s significance, ReroTV Media presented Dr. Ojoede with an award of recognition for his charitable works through the OMO Foundation, aiming to inspire him to continue his impactful contributions to society.

Other Community leaders expressed collective pride in Dr. Ojoede’s achievements and the positive changes anticipated for Koko and beyond under his guidance in the governor’s administration.
