The Founding Leader of the Delta All Progressive Congress (APC), and 2015 gubernatorial Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, has welcomed back into the Party, his brother Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru. 

In a statement personally signed, Emerhor described Ogboru as an undisputed grassroot mobilizer and the doyen of opposition politics in Delta State.

He said; “I Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, OON, Founding Leader of Delta APC and the 2015 Governorship Candidate of the Party hereby seizes this occasion to welcome back into the Delta State APC family, my dear brother, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru.”

“Chief Ogboru need no introduction both in Delta State APC and in Delta State as a whole. Chief Ogboru was the 2019 Governorship Candidate of Delta State APC. He is an undisputed grassroot mobilizer and the doyen of opposition politics in Delta State. He commands a huge political following in the state.”

“Chief Ogboru left the APC in 2023 due to political disagreements in the period leading to Congresses and primaries. He left APC with a grand swell of followers which had a marked impact on the party.”

“As the Chairman of the Delta State APC Reconciliation Committee, I must emphasize that the return of Chief Ogboru today aligns with the objective and recommendations of the Reconciliation Committee.”

“Delta APC must welcome and accommodate all leaders, past and present, aggrieved and otherwise and provide one big tent for all under the COLLEGIATE LEADERSHIP. Chief Ogboru’s return today further expands the Delta APC leadership and of course, Chief Ogboru’s huge followership can only boost the reach and grassroot popularity of the Party.” Emerhor said.

“May I also seize the opportunity of welcoming Chief Ogboru back to the party to send a message to all other leaders who are still outside the APC leadership tent to reconsider their SOLE RUN and RETURN to JOIN FORCES with us.”
