The Delta State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, (Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori) has officially commissioned the Boji-Boji Owa Mixed Modern Market in Ika North-East Local Government Area.
This newly completed market is designed to provide a modern trading environment that will enhance business activities, improve local commerce, and boost economic growth within the region.
The Governor, who was represented by His Excellency, Sir Monday Onyeme, (Monday Onyeme) Deputy Governor of Delta State, reiterated the administration’s commitment to infrastructural development and economic empowerment, stating that the project aligns with the MORE agenda’s vision of creating sustainable opportunities for small and medium-scale businesses. He emphasized that the new market would help organize the commercial activities of the area, reduce street trading, and provide a conducive business atmosphere for traders and buyers.
The commissioning ceremony was well attended by key government officials, party leaders, and other dignitaries, including the Member representing Ika North-East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Marilyn Okowa-Daramola; (Marilyn Okowa-Daramola) the Deputy State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sir Moses Iduh; (Moses Iduh) the Honorable Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Jamani Ejiro; (Jamani Tommy Ejiro) the Honorable Commissioner for Trade and Investment; the Honorable Commissioner for Works, Rural Roads, and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu; (Aniagwu Charles) and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Export, Mrs. Shimite Love (Shimite White Eagle) and other special advisers. Also present were the Chairman of Ika North-East Local Government Area, Hon. Monday Hunkamma, (Hunkamma Monday Odigwe) the Chairman of Ika South Local Government Area, Hon. Jerry Ehiwarior, (Jerry Ehiwarior) as well as Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to the Governor.
The Boji-Boji Owa Mixed Modern Market is one of several infrastructural projects initiated by the Delta State Government to promote local enterprise and economic development. The market features upgraded facilities that will ensure convenience for traders and customers alike, contributing to the overall economic advancement of Ika North-East and its environs.
As the administration continues to implement people-centered projects across the state, the government has reaffirmed its dedication to fostering economic growth and providing necessary infrastructure that will benefit communities and enhance trade activities.
