The Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has announced a new way of calculating scores for admission, which is the 70/30 grading system.

This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by the Public Relations Unit of the Directorate of Ceremonials, Information and Public Relations, Vice Chancellor’s Office.
Recall that previously, DELSU used a method called the 50/50 grading system, where a candidate’s JAMB (UTME) score was 50% of the screening score, while the Post UTME result made up the other 50%. The said Post UTME score was earned through examinations.
But now, DELSU has introduced a new grading system called the 70/30 grading system.
“In this new method, 70% of a candidate’s screening score will come from their UTME (JAMB) score, and the remaining 30% from their O’Level result,” the statement added.
With this development, DELSU no longer uses examination for Post UTME screening.
