Dafinone Lauds Prof. Abugu’s Emergence as President of Urhobo Renaissance Society

Member representing Delta Central Senatorial District at the national assembly, Sen. Ede Dafinone has lauded Prof. Joseph Abugu, SAN, on his emergence as President of the Urhobo Renaissance Society (URS).
Dafinone in a good will message, described Prof Abugu’s election as timely and significant, coming at a defining moment in the Urhobo nation’s quest for renewal, unity, and sustainable progress.
While congratulating Prof. Abugu on his emergence, Dafinone said his unwavering commitment to Urhobo values, and his outstanding contributions to education and cultural development has brought him out amongst the best.

Dafinone said, “I congratulate Prof. Abugu on this well-deserved honor. His dedication to the ideals of the Urhobo people and his intellectual contributions give me confidence that the URS will experience a new era of vision and impact under his leadership.
“I also extended this congratulations to the newly sworn-in executive members who will work with Prof. Abugu. And l have explicit confidence that Prof. Abugu led executives will bring a renewed energy, strategic direction, and a collaborative spirit in advancing the noble objectives of the URS.
“I also commended the outgoing President, Prof. Hope Eghagha for his pioneering leadership and tireless commitment to the society, as Eghagha’s tenure has laid a strong foundation upon which the new administration can build on to continue the growth of the organization.”
Dafinone highlighted the relevance of the Urhobo Renaissance Society, guided by its motto “Egba R’Okugbe” (Unity is Strength), as a rallying platform for distinguished Urhobo sons and daughters across board committed to cultural preservation, unity and advancement of Urhobo interests.
