The President General of Afiesere Community, Ughelli North local government area of Delta state, weekend, warned decisively any student found destroying school property, lateness to school and disrespectful to teachers.
The press statement has stated clearly that the community leadership may not be left with any option but to prevail on the school authority to deal decisively with such students and ensures that he or she faces serious punishment or expulsion.
The President General, Afiesere community, Mr. Luke Umukoro gave this warning while reacting to reports of students from Afiesere schools that took to destroying of school property, lateness to school, disrespectful to teachers and others.
The Afiesere Community President General, Mr. Luke Umukoro advised the students to desist from such destruction of school property and other acts that violates the rules and regulations that established the school, saying that any one caught in such act will be made to face disciplinary action.
In a statement personally signed by the Afiesere community President General, Mr. Luke Umukoro, frowned at the growing trend of misconduct by some students and regular lateness to school without any cogent reason.
The statement which reads in parts said, “We have observed with great concern in collaboration with the School authorities growing trend of misconduct in some students over lateness, destruction of school property and other acts that violates established rules and regulations.
“Such behaviour is not only going to be condone or acceptable but also brings shame and dishonour to the parents of such students and the good name of Afiesere Community.
“We thereby, urged all parents and guidance to take urgent steps in cautioning their children and wards against this action. Let it be made clear that any student found engaging in such misconduct will face strict disciplinary action including possible expulsion from the school.
“We must all work together to uphold discipline, integrity and respect for our educational institutions. Let us all guide our children in the right part for their future and the pride of Afiesere Community.”
