Ughelli – In a strong rebuttal to circulating rumours and internal scheming, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Hon. Obakpororo Onobedje has reaffirmed his position as the legitimate and undisputed leader of the party in the area.
He urged members to remain calm, loyal, and steadfast to the ideals of the APC, despite ongoing distractions from elements within the party.

According to him, the recent developments are nothing short of the usual theatrics orchestrated by a group of individuals uncertain about their political future. Their actions, he noted, are driven by desperation and personal gain rather than genuine commitment to the progress of the party and its members.
Obakpororo did not mince words as he called out certain political figures whom he described as habitual betrayers, known for selling their conscience for material benefits. “Their hunger for power and wealth is insatiable,” he remarked, likening them to those who would sell their birthright for a mere mess of porridge. He added that such political merchants have become notorious within and beyond the state for their lack of integrity.
He further stated that the ongoing attempts to alter the structure of the party in Ughelli North Local government are constitutionally null and void, emphasizing that the APC remains a law guided political organization where internal democracy and due process prevail. “We are fully aware of the constitution of our great party, and every attempt to subvert it will amount to nothing,” he asserted confidently.
Obakpororo revealed that those behind the charade are already considering amending their press statements to include names of individuals who were legitimately expelled or suspended at the ward level. Such deceitful manoeuvres, he said, are destined to fail as the truth will always stand tall above propaganda and mischief.
Calling on all party faithful across Ughelli North, he appealed for calm and patience, assuring that his position as the duly elected chairman remains unshaken and constitutionally recognized. He maintained that the APC stands on the pillars of discipline, order, and justice, values that clearly differentiate it from other political organizations.
“Let no one be deceived,” Obakpororo concluded. “My mandate as Chairman of the APC in Ughelli North is intact and untouchable. We remain resolute, united, and ready to move forward. The APC is not PDP; we do not abandon structure, nor do we forsake law and order.”
