Leaders and key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State have passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, adopting them as the party’s sole candidates for the 2027 presidential and governorship elections, respectively.

The endorsement, which was reached at a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held in Asaba on Sunday, reflects a rare show of unity within the Delta APC ahead of the 2027 General Election.

According to a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the party leaders unanimously resolved to back President Tinubu’s re-election bid, citing his “courageous leadership, economic reforms, and commitment to national stability”.

The stakeholders also lauded Governor Oborevwori for his “inclusive governance style and developmental strides across Delta State”.

“After extensive deliberations, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State hereby pass a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

“We unanimously adopt them as the APC’s sole candidates for the 2027 Presidential and Governorship elections respectively.”

The meeting was attended by prominent party chieftains, members of the National and State Working Committees, local government chairmen, and grassroots mobilisers across the three Senatorial Districts of the State.

Party leaders expressed optimism that the joint endorsement of Tinubu and Oborevwori would strengthen the APC’s structure in Delta and foster greater political collaboration toward the 2027 polls.
