Chief of Staff to Senator Ede Dafinone, Olorogun Barr. Adelabu Bodjor has thrown his weight behind the Delta Central lawmaker for a second term, describing his performance as outstanding and transformative.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday after hosting a new political pressure group, the Ughelli South Political Colonels (USPC), at his Ekakpamre country home, Bodjor said Dafinone had redefined representation by prioritising human capital development over token empowerment.
“The man started the job, and he has not even gone halfway. He has improved on the political lives of Delta Central, and it is only fair and proper that we give him more opportunity to build on the wonderful foundation he has laid,” Bodjor said.
He added, “Our Senator does not believe in giving fish to the people. He teaches them how to fish. If he can teach as many people as possible to catch fish, the economy of Delta Central will experience a turnaround and become an Eldorado. That is what the people want.”
Earlier, USPC executives led by Chairman, Olorogun John Ewenede explained that the group was formed to strengthen the APC in Ughelli South, particularly at the grassroots. “The main purpose of forming this political pressure group, the people of Ughelli South, is to galvanise and mobilise, especially the grassroots, for our President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and our amiable Governor, His Excellency Rt. Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori,” Ewenede said.
He added, “To you, sir, we have a task. You belong to the upper echelon of the party as a leader. We want all leaders to be united and to speak with one voice. That is why we have come to you.”
Responding, Bodjor praised the merger of APC and PDP elements in the state as “providential,” recalling past political rivalries. “In the past, the two parties fought fiercely, but God has brought us together. No bullet was fired, and we are marching to Government House in 2027,” he declared.
Bodjor, however, urged the group to broaden its scope beyond Tinubu and Oborevwori, stressing the need to mobilise for all APC candidates. “When you talk about our President and our Governor, it should include every other candidate of the APC,” he said, pledging his support for the group whenever called upon.
Members of USPC drawn from across the 11 wards of Ughelli South Local Government Area attended the event.
