Coalition of Udu CSOs Expresses Commitment to Udu Devt
*denounces political affiliation
By Watchmann
The Udu Coalition of Civil Society Groups, on 31 July 2025 after an enlarged meeting of the representatives of different groups, expressed commitment to the development of Udu Local Government Area. The Coalition reaffirmed its position that it is apolitical, denouncing attempts to link it with political parties or candidates.
The Coalition underscored that its formation was solely to attract development by drawing the attention of the Delta State Government and other stakeholders to the plight of the Udu people, who are suffering from what is believed to be state sponsored marginalisation and neglect.
The coalition commended the encouragement and intervention of some leaders and hope the Udu people’s demands for better welfare would be acted on by the State Government.
While thanking the communities and people who participated in the protests, the Udu Coalition of Civil Society Groups that organised the recent protests across Udu denounced any political affiliation. Our interest is basically the progress of Udu as we do not have the Udu people’s mandate to endorse any candidate for any political position ahead of the 2027 election.
God bless Udu Kingdom
