One Year Anniversary: Delta NUJ Laud Bomadi LGA chairman, Dagid on His mega projects

Nigeria Union of Journalist, Delta State Council has rated the Bomadi Local government council Chairman, Hon Dagidi Andaye Rawlings higher amongst other Council chairmen on his one year anniversary over his laudable achievements.

The Union State executive led by its chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe and Secretary Comrade Victor Sorokwu made the rating at Bomadi when the Union members visited the Council chairman in Bomadi to access his achievement after one year in office.

While briefing journalists, the Bomadi Local government council chairman disclosed that he has earmarked 14 mega Projects including construction of Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori Ultra-Modern Multipurpose Event Centre for inauguration in celebration of his administration’s One year in office.

Hon Andaye stated that the first project he embarked upon was the construction of a chapel for the council to enable staff of the council continue to seek the face of God through prayers.

Other projects completed and awaiting inauguration according to Bomadi council Boss include the construction of Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori Ultra-Modern Multipurpose Event Centre, named in honour of Delta State’s First Lady , renovation and rehabilitation of the Chairman’s Lodge, construction of Residential Building for the Vice Chairman, Construction of concrete Pavements with Drainage leading to the Chairman’s Office, construction of Residential Building for the High Court Judge and access road, Full Renovation of the High Court Complex and Chambers to enhance access to justice as the high Court in Bomadi was abandoned because the premises was not habitable.

Other Projects ready for inauguration are Residential Quarters for Principal Officers, Construction of Engr Atlas Obi Way Road, Painting of Secretariat Offices, Rehabilitation of the Main Pavilion, Connecting Bomadi Local Government Area to the National Grid, ending 17 years of darkness and ushering in stable electricity across Bomadi and Kpakiama Communities.

On security ,Hon Andaye revealed that On assumption of office he Inaugurated the Bomadi Local Government Security and Advisory Council to Broker peace between Okoloba and Okuama communities, resolved dispute between Ogodobiri and Ezebiri communities, Provision of financial support and increased allowances of security chiefs and vigilantes, Provision of Patrol vehicles for the Police and Vigilante to Enhance logistics and equipment for efficient security surveillance, Provision of accommodation for JTF and Eagle-Net amongst others.

The Bomadi council Boss added that his administration has launched initiatives that uplifted the vulnerable, empower the youth, and honor the elderly through Bomadi Elderly Citizens Empowerment Programme (BECEP) and provision of furniture and electrical equipment to Bomadi General Hospital.

The Bomadi council chairman revealed that the 14 mega projects to mark his one year in office will be inaugurated soon by the State Governor, His Excellency RT Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

The head of the NUJ team and Chairman of the state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Churchill Oyowe thanked Hon. Dagidi for being the first Council Chairman to promptly ascend to the request for a project tour at the grass roots to ascertain their veracity.

He emphasized that it is the role of the media to hold those in authority accountable and to interrogate how those in government have impacted on the people they are elected to serve.

Oyowe then commended Hon. Dagidi for the great strides within one year in office and enjoined him to intensify efforts in delivering more people oriented projects in his Council.

The Vice chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon (Mrs) Poweide Guembe Bekes and other staffs of the Council later conducted the journalists round the various projects which are set for commissioning soon by the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori
