AWKA— Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has reiterated his commitment to repositioning Anambra as not only a model state in Nigeria but as the emerging tech and tourism hub of West Africa.

Speaking during an interaction with the Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG) in Awka, the governor expressed pride in the remarkable strides achieved by his administration in under three years.

According to the governor, Anambra is fast transforming into a destination for innovation, leisure, and governance excellence. “The Awka Fun City is now the best in the region, not just in Nigeria, but in many parts of Africa,” Soludo said. “None is comparable in terms of structure, purpose, and experience.”

Highlighting his signature development projects, Governor Soludo announced that his guests were visiting the temporary Governor’s Lodge for the last time, as his administration is on the verge of relocating to a permanent seat of power, the newly built Anambra Government House, also known as the “Light House.”

“For 34 years, every governor has come to this temporary structure to preside over the affairs of the state. But no more. I am packing my bags, and I can’t wait to move,” Soludo declared. “The next time I host you, it will be in our Banquet Hall at the Light House.”

The Light House project, he said, sits on a 23-acre expanse of land and consists of 56 completed structures. According to him, the new Government House embodies the spirit of a modern Anambra, bold, visionary, and prepared for the future.

Prof. Soludo also took the opportunity to underscore his cultural advocacy. In a humorous yet pointed remark, he stated, “Any beer not produced in Anambra is not near, but just a chemical,” a comment that drew laughter from the audience but underscored his call to support local industries
