The National President of the Phase 1 Ex-Agitators’ Leaders and Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Security, Chief Aroni Oputu (aka Gen Aroni), has called on the Itsekiri people to shield their sword, just as he condemned the alleged attack on Itsekiri indigenes in Ajagbodudu Community, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.
A leader of Warri North LGA, Micheal Diden (aka Ejele) had in a viral video accused some workers of TANTITA security company of attacking the Itsekiri in Ajagbodudu Community in deguise of doing surveillance job.
Reacting to the incident, the National President Ex-Agitators’ Leaders, Gen. Aroni Oputu (aka Gen Aroni) while sympathizing with Ejele over the incident, however sued for peace, saying that there is no benefit in crisis.
He said; “I deeply sympathize with our Itsekiri people especially Hon. Micheal Diden (aka Ejele) over the recent attack on his people. However, Some people are alleging that Tompolo is intimidating the Itsekiris with his TANTITA security company. I wish to let the Itsekiris know that; Tompolo is not involved in any way over that matter at Ajagbodudu Community.”
“Tompolo is a peace loving leader; and the TANTITA job covers the whole of Ijaws, Itsekiris and Urhobos; so he can not work against his fellow Deltan”.
“What happened in Ajagbodudu might be likened to personal interest in some areas trying to use ‘Peter to rob Paul’. But I can say categorically that TANTITA company was not involved in that alleged onslaught in Ajagbodudu community. TANTITA’s job is very clear; it is to stop illegal burnkery for the daily oil production to be increased and that he is doing.”
“I sympathize with the leader of Warri North LGA, Hon. Micheal Diden (aka Ejele) and families of those victims. I therefore urge Itsekiri people to shield their sword and make peace amongst one another for continual peaceful coexistence.”
