*welcome PDP decampees into APC

Former Secretary to Delta State Government,  Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay, has warned elected politicians across Isoko Nation not to hide under the President of Nigeria,  Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the State Governor,  Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, to campaign for their re-election come 2027 general elections. 

He said that, “in the All Progressives Congress (APC) as of today, no one is contesting against the President and the Governor”, urging elected politicians to allow their works speaks for them in their  re-election  campaign.

Macaulay stated this over the weekend,  at his country home, while welcoming PDP decampees led by Sir Dr Patrick Akporuno into APC alongside Owhelogbo Ward 5 Ward Chairman, Mr Vincent Ubogu, and other Leaders Elder Jonathan Ugu, Deacon Osiobe.

Addressing party faithfuls and the decampees,  Comrade Macaulay sue for unity among Leaders of the party in Isoko Nation and urge decampees and party faithfuls to shun politics of pull him down syndrome, and backbiting, noting that; “such act will not move Isoko nation forward.”

He said; “I and Sir Dr Patrick Akporuno never quarreled face to face. But in all that happened,  so many people were feeding from it. I am one of the most happiest person on earth today. Because we are all one united family today. When Dr Akporuno called me,  he said Macaulay the man that saw tomorrow. We were all in PDP before,  but I left due to some certain things happening which I wasn’t comfortable with. But thank God today, the Governor and everyone here, we are in the same APC together.

“To you, that is using the Governor’s name for gossiping, you are on your own. Those who always gossip with Leaders and Governor’s name should desist from it. In all that has happened, who are the ones suffering. In PDP,  since most of us left the party till date, they are suffering. Because in life, if people used you to fight your father. At the end, when same people will fight you, your father will be watching you. That is the suffering,  Isoko Nation is facing today. But by grace of God, we have all returned to one party and as we are returning,  we should remain united.

“We should stop backbiting and work for how we can win future elections and develop Isoko Nation. Dr Akporuno,  you have my number,  if you heard that I was backbiting you, do not hesitate to call me. We as Leaders should not encourage backbiting, because that diminishes us.”

Speaking further, Comrade Macaulay said; “I want to plead with all of us, because some of us have access to the Governor too. This act of carrying false rumours and destroying Leaders before the Governor, let it stop. Because when next I see the Governor, I will tell him myself,  that anytime, anybody from Isoko Nation went to tell him that someone is working against him in Isoko nation, let him hold the person and send for the person for clarity and truthful purpose.

“Because as it is today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, who are Leaders of the party in both Federal and State  levels remains the party only automatic candidates to be returned to their respective positions come 2027 general elections. No one is contesting against them. And whoever that votes for the Governor, votes for the President also. As elected politicians seeking for their re-election. Don’t hide under the Governor and the President to campaign, work for yourself. Let your people say you’re electable”, Macaulay concluded.

He advised the Ward Chairman,  Mr Vincent Ubogu to issue the party cards to political appointees first before we giving to others, noting that; “To those PDP members who are not here today and are yet to formally defects to APC,  you are not a member of my party the APC. You are the person working against the Governor and the President re-election. Its means you have the mind to play a double game. Why are you hiding your identity. Are you a night member and you don’t want to be a day member.”

Earlier on in his speech,  the Leader of the decampees, Sir Dr Patrick Akporuno, commended the Leadership prowes of Comrade Macaulay, stressing that, they have all since defected to the APC alongside His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and other stakeholders across the State, noting that they are only completing the processes that qualified them to be full members of their new party.

He said; “We needed to make a decision that would further help to cement the development in our State, Isoko North Local Government and Owhelogbo, as well as to further advance the welfare of our people, and, to a large extent, ensure that development in Delta State, Isoko nation,  Isoko  North Local Government and Owhelogbo are not truncated.”

In their remark, Elder Jonathan Ugu and the Ward Chairman,  Mr Vincent Ubogu, said, APC remains the only party worthy to join that does the right thing by delivering the true dividends of democracy to citizens, positing that those they are receiving from the PDP, are dedicated leaders and members, asserting that their coming to APC will make the party stronger than how its was in previous elections.
